The fauna and flora of the islet
All around this islet, mangroves and rocks proudly stand as a line of defense. It has a stunning and very varied flora with a large number of native plants such as reindeer wood, candle wood, beef wood, sailor wood among others. Banyans, frangipani and filaos contribute to the beauty of this nature. Further on the islet there is a water-filled basin formed by an ancient volcanic crater and several lakes that contribute to its authentic charm. The fauna is as surprising as the flora; the islet is home to a wide variety of insects, lizards and birds. A particularly famous crustacean is found on the islet; the "loulou" crab.
