The Salon de la Maison et du Jardin in Mauritius

The “Salon de la Maison et du Jardin” is a trade show which is held every year since 2016 at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre (SVICC) in Pailles. Organised by the Publi-Promo company, it was initially and for the first time held in 1991 at the Forum de Curepipe. It was held twice this year, namely in April and October. This tradeshow, which takes place usually during four days, is the opportunity to make profitable purchases.

    Items for sale
More than 100 traders exhibit their products in this “Salon”. It stems from the basic concept of making every element of furnishing and interior decoration available at one place.

A large variety of furniture, mattresses, decorative items, fresh flowers, electrical appliances, paint, flooring and lighting, amongst others, is up for sale.

Take a look at solid wood furniture for a vintage look to your bedroom for instance. If you think this is too old-fashioned, you may go for a more modern design.

This applies for kitchens as well; more spacious cupboards, less bothersome areas that are more easy to clean up and in different colours, are available.

A magnificent chandelier can contribute to the creation of a chic atmosphere in your living room. Moreover, more cost-efficient lighting is also up for sale.

If you were thinking of adding a swimming pool to your property, consult the professionals.

Try solar water-heaters to save up on money and get into the use of renewable energy.

Choose from a range of maintenance appliances for the house and yard – the well-known high-pressure spray machines for example – as well as kitchen utensils.

Also, we discussed of the trend of adding plants to interior decoration. A large number of very interesting plants is available for purchase just outside the Convention Centre.

The benefits of attending the “Salon”
Not having to visit hundreds of shops to redecorate one’s house is a dream that turns into reality thanks to this “Salon”. Besides, one should be able to find a parking first before even thinking of making purchases in shops!

Don’t worry; the SVICC’s parking lot is large enough to accommodate for many vehicles, sparing you this trouble. Shuttle buses are also available from the Port Louis and Rose Hill bus stations respectively.

Enjoy considerable discounts on several items. The tradeshow offers the opportunity of saving up a great amount of money by offering exclusive deals.

The “Salon” is home to more technologically-advanced items. The furniture up for sale at the event is increasingly state-of-the-art. Several gadgets to help in kitchen tasks or gardening for instance are available.

In addition to modernisation, the Publi-Promo company wishes to promote ecological awareness through the event by putting forward eco-friendly items and services.

If you wish to renovate your house or parts of it, you will benefit from the presence of professionals in the field to advise you.

Even if you do not plan to redecorate or change the furniture of your house, visiting the “Salon de la Maison et du Jardin” allows one to have an overview of the prevailing trends. We can only advise you to reach there very early. See you next year!
