    New Year's Day - Friday 2 January

    Abolition of Slavery - Sunday 1 February

    Thaipoosam Cavadee - Sunday 1 February

    Maha Shivaratree - Sunday 15 February

    Chinese Spring Festival - Tuesday 17 February

    National Day - Thursday 12 March

    Ugaadi - Thursday 19 March

    Eid-Ul-Fitr - Saturday 21 March (subject to change)

    Labour Day - Friday 1st May

    Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - Saturday 15 August

    Ganesh Chaturthi - Wednesday 16 September

    Arrival of Hired Labour - Monday 02 November

    Divali - Sunday 08 November

    Christmas - Friday 25 December
     

    Mauritius has fifteen public holidays in its annual calendar. There are seven unchanging public holidays in the year and the remaining public holidays are religious celebrations whose dates vary from year to year.

    For the year 2026, most of the public holidays are on weekdays, with the exception of six which fall on weekends.

    Eid al-Fitr, the festival marking the end of Ramadan, is subject to confirmation as its celebration depends on the visibility of the moon.
