Accommodation and catering
Two of the most important aspects of a vacation trip are accommodation and food.
For accommodation, resort hotels have different types of rooms, all rooms have a balcony/terrace, coffee/tea corner, a television and an office area;
- The standard room is a single room (2 to maximum 3 persons), , it is less expensive and usually includes a double bed or two single beds and a sofa bed.
- The family room (2 adults and 3 children) has a king size double bed and a large sofa bed.
- The suite is similar to a small apartment in a resort. It includes a large bedroom, a living room and a large bathroom.
- Communicating rooms have an individual entrance door and a connecting door that will allow you to go from one room to another. They are perfect for families.
Regarding catering, resort hotels often have several restaurants of different cuisines and styles, for example a large open buffet or a chic à la carte restaurant. They offer breakfast from 07h30 in the morning and also have room service if you prefer to have breakfast in your room.
Leisure and sports
The resort hotels offer a wide range of land-based and water-based activities/sports. As for relaxation, you can sunbathe by the pool or on the beach, enjoy a good swim or book a massage at the hotel's spa. In terms of entertainment, dance shows are organised as well as family events (e.g. fair and theme games), you will also find clubs for children from 4 to 12 years old in most resorts. Water activities differ from one hotel to another; there is scuba diving, snorkeling, boat rides, kayaking and pedal boats among others. Finally, on the sports side, there is tennis, golf, football and volleyball and the impressive flying trapeze (only available in Club Med hotels in Mauritius).
